Syrian Armenians try to make their businesses without loan

YEREVAN, 11 APRIL, 2015. The Armenian-Syrians, who are settled in Armenia, try to make their business without loan obligations. They avoid from the preferential loans, which are suggested to them, trying to move forward by their own efforts.

Karmen Mnatsakyan in a talk with Armenpress told, that after moving from Aleppo to Yerevan, he has begun to occupy with the production of bags.

"We are selling our prepared begs only during exhibitions, but we don’t still have the plans to enlarge the production. We are trying to make our businesses without loan. Since 2012, we have moved to Armenia, our main job is that. During this time we have received support from various organizations and thank God, we are able to care our expenses,” Armenian-Syrian businessman noted.

Armenian-Syrian Yoland Sapunjyan, who is permanent residence in Yerevan, is engaged in the production of the pastries and sweets. In our conversation he told, that the main difficulty which came out during moving to Armenia, they did not have a home and the social relations were weak. "We tried to establish a Syrian cuisine, but we do not have an area and we work only by orders. There are problems with selling, mainly during the exhibitions we are able to show our products. However, we hope that the issues will be resolved over time, as we prepare to settle in Armenia," Sapunjyan said. He also noted that after moving to Armenia they have received support from the local and international organizations, but not loan support. "We do not want to take a risk here, it's better to collect slowly the funds and that way establish our restaurant," he said.
