Visiting journalists from Iraqi Kurdistan meet with Armenpress editor-in-chief

YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, ARMENPRESS. Armenpress Editor-in-Chief Shant Khlghatyan has hosted a media delegation from Iraqi Kurdistan at the news agency’s headquarters in Yerevan.

The group of journalists from Iraqi Kurdistan is visiting Armenia as part of a press tour organized by the Foreign Ministry.

Armenpress Editor-in-Chief Shant Khlghatyan and international news department journalist Davit Mamyan welcomed the group and presented the news agency’s work.

Khlghatyan expressed readiness to explore possible options for cooperation.

The visiting reporters thanked for the warm reception and constructive discussion, and invited their Armenpress counterparts to visit Iraqi Kurdistan.

Mohammed Sadeeq Mohammed, the Secretary of the Kurdistan Union of Journalists Zakho city office, said that the Kurdish side highly values the relationship with Armenia and the activities of Armenpress.

He said that the group is impressed by the visit.

“Our peoples have always had brotherly relations,” Mohammed said, adding that they highly value the Armenians in Kurdistan.  “Armenia is a very good country.”

The group of journalists then presented proposals for cooperation.
