IMF attaches importance to continuation of measures for Armenia’s economic growth

YEREVAN, 12 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan received the delegation led by International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief to Armenia Mark Horton. IMF Resident Representative in Armenia Teresa Daban Sanchez also attended the meeting.

As the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the interlocutors discussed issues related to the bilateral cooperation and Armenia’s current economic situation and the trends for development, as well as issues related to the tax and budget policy and loan and monetary policy. The head of government mentioned that economic development continued last year and that the economic activity indicator rose by 3.9 percent. The Prime Minister emphasized that the government would continue to take steps and implement reforms to ensure economic growth, to improve the business climate, as well as promote exports and engage investments. Mark Horton attached importance to the continuation of measures being taken to ensure economic growth in order to resist the challenges and implement the reforms that are envisaged.
