YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. The situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line is tense, but it is under control. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan stated this in a conversation with Armenpress before the executive body session. He reacted on the case of the two servicemen’s death from the sniper of the enemy in one of the military units in Ararat. “I had a talk with the Defense Minister who introduced me the situation in details and said that it is under control,” Hovik Abrahamyan said as reported by Armenpress.

To the observation that one of the reasons for the border tensions is Armenia’s membership to the CU, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan noted that he would not like to connect them to each other. “The situation is tense on the border, but it is not so as you introduce,” he said.

According to the received information, on June 5 contract servicemen Andranik Samvel Yeghoyan (borin in 1988, Ararat m.u.) and Boris Benik Gasparyan (born in 1992, Ararat m.u.) received mortal bullet injuries in the security unit combat position in one of the military units located in the south-western direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the sorrow of the heavy loss and expresses its support to the members of the family, relatives and colleagues of the died servicemen while providing security of Armenia’s borders. The details of the incident are being clarified.
