Armenia’s Prime Minister regards CU as established structure

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, ARMENPRESS. The Customs Union is already an established structure and does its next step for close cooperation undertaking the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan informed about it in a conversation with the journalists in response to the question whether the Customs Union will be formed if Ukraine does not join that structure. “First of all I want to record that the structure has already been formed and has already shown its efficiency,” the Prime Minister said as reported by Armenpress.

The Presidents of 3 member countries of the Customs Union have already stated about the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union which means that they go into a new stage of cooperation. “That new stage suggests unity of four free solutions in one economic space which are free flows of goods, capital, services and workforce,” Tigran Sargsyan said.

On September 3 in Moscow President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced about Armenia’s decision to join Customs Union and implementation of steps necessary for that aim and in future participating in formation of Eurasian economic union. At the same time Armenian President mentioned that the decision to join Customs Union is not a refusal from dialogue with European organizations. Chief of staff of President’s office Vigen Sargsyan on September 4 announced that pre-signing of Association agreement remains in Armenia’s agenda.
