YEREVAN, MAY 13, ARMENPRESS: The State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and the US Embassy in Armenia will present the joint program Hollywood Non-Stop at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on May 15 and 16. As reported by Armenpress, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia John Heffern stated at the press conference held on May 13 that the Hollywood Non-Stop is quite an interesting project.
“I was present at the concerts of the project in Vanadzor and Yerevan. The project presents the best music for us and the best music for the youth”, - said John Heffern.
The Art Manager of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and the chief conductor Sergey Smbatyan stated that HollywoodNon-Stop will prove first that the young people like classical music.
Concerts are intended to be held also in the Artsakh Republic.
“Hollywood Non-Stop” represents melodies from popular American films. The State Youth Orchestra of Armenia will perform soundtracks of famous Hollywood films, such as “Brave Heart”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Godfather”, “Once Upon a Time in America” etc. All the pieces included in the program were specially arranged for the Youth Orchestra.
The project Hollywood Non-Stop is very popular among the viewers. In 2012 it was presented in 8 higher educational institutions of Yerevan to more than 6000 students.
In 2013 the same program was presented at the concert halls of RA marzes, particularly in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Eghegnadzor, Artashat. In all these cities the audience enthusiastically greeted the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia giving high scores both to the representation of music of Hollywood movies, and the efforts of the Youth Orchestra to present classical music in the marzes.
The State Youth Orchestra of Armenia will grant 10% from each sold ticket to the charity fund “Give Life”, which activity is directed to the life saving of the Armenian children suffering from cancer and blood diseases.
The concerts in the framework of the project are supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and VivaCell-MTS.
