Minister Zhanna Andreasyan and US Ambassador discuss expanding cooperation in education and culture

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, on Tuesdy received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Armenia, Kristina Kvien. 

The Chairman of the Higher Education and Science Committee, Sargis Hayotsyan, also attended the meeting.

According to the ministry, Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the Ambassador and emphasized the importance of Armenia-US cooperation. The Minister noted that effective cooperation in various fields and new programs demonstrate the quality of the partnership.

During the meeting, the importance of the internationalization of universities was highlighted. Emphasizing the deepening of ties in the field of science, the Minister expressed readiness to take active and clear steps toward cooperation with the US National Science Foundation.

According to the source, the US Ambassador expressed gratitude for the reception and highlighted the commitment to strengthening close relations with Armenia.

The Ambassador also emphasized the cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport in various fields and expressed readiness to support the implementation of joint initiatives.

During the meeting, the parties also touched upon other opportunities for cooperation in the field of culture, including the organization of a joint exhibition with the 20th-century Armenian-American prominent writer William Saroyan House-Museum in Fresno and one of the museums in Armenia.

Other issues of mutual interest were also touched upon at the meeting.
