Serzh Sargsyan has convened a National Security Council meeting

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS: President of Armenian Republic and the president of National Security Council Serzh Sargsyan held a National Security Council meeting on September 12. As Armenpress was informed by presidential press office the national strategy draft of Human Rights protection has been discussed during the meeting.

The members of the Council have discussed issues concerning "Interaction -2012" CSTO joint military exercises and strategic military command exercises summarizing stage in October.

Before proceeding to agenda Serzh Sargsyan referred to the Local government elections held on September 9, and noted with satisfaction that the elections were held without serious incidents, in a competitive environment, and that the Central Election Commission summed up the results.

,, Nine communities appealed for recount; five were connected with the community leaders, four -the selection of Municipal Councilors” said Serzh Sargsyan.

,,No deviation was found during the recalculation which was made under the supervision of the interested parties and Central Electoral Commission. Moreover the list of people who are not on the territory of Armenian Republic been also checked. Not a single case was found. I would like to add that the members who are not present on today’s meeting are on a business trip. This was said to avoid any excessive speculations” highlighted President Serzh Sargsyan.

NA President Hovik Abrahamyan, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, The secretary of Armenian National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian, President's Chief of Staff Vigen Sargsyan, Chief Prosecutor of Armenia Avghan Hovsepyan, Director of the National Security Service Gorik Hakobyan, Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Yuri Khachaturov and defender of human right of Armenia Karen Andreasyan participated in this meeting.
