YEREVAN, AUGUST 16, ARMENPRESS: Armenian national football team defeated 1:0 Wales. Armenpress reports that already at the 6th minute of the match our team had the right to kick penalty shot and defender Hovhannes Hambardzumyan opened the score. At the second half our team again had a right of penalty shot but this time Hovhannes Hambardzumyan could not score a goal. The match ended 1:0.
After this victory in the table of our group our team strengthened its positions in the second place. The first place has Czech Republic with 16 points and has played one match less. Armenia has 14 points, Wales 10, Montenegro 9 and Andorra 0. Our team will play with Montenegro in the last round and in case of victory will have good chances to pass through playoff because at this moment Armenian national team is included among the best 4 teams of the teams which have second positions in their group.
