Armenia must adopt anti-SLAPP legislation and introduce effective mechanisms to protect against strategic lawsuits against public participation.
Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan said this during a high-level dialogue held as part of COP17, according to the Public Relations Department of the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
Manasyan addressed challenges in ensuring the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, stressing the importance of public participation in environmental decision-making, access to information and effective mechanisms for protecting rights.
