Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Vahan Kostanyan participated in an open discussion titled “Redefining Foreign Policy: Integrating Trade, Diplomacy and National Resilience” as part of the Comprehensive Security and Resilience International Conference.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Kostanyan outlined the transformation of Armenia’s foreign policy priorities over time, stressing that while they had previously been largely focused on one or two directions and, in essence, on conflict management, in recent years priorities and directions have been diversified within the framework of a forward-looking foreign policy agenda based on Armenia’s interests and taking geopolitical realities into account.
The work being carried out in various areas, including within the framework of the Ministry’s new international trade mandate, was also highlighted.
Addressing strategic partnerships, the Deputy Minister noted that today they are based not only on historical ties and traditionally warm relations, but also on mutually beneficial programmes and initiatives based on specific political and economic interests. In this context, he presented concrete and measurable results achieved within the framework of strategic partnerships established with various countries.
Responding to questions from the moderator, Kostanyan also addressed the process of normalising Armenia-Türkiye relations.
The Deputy Minister presented the progress of the TRIPP project’s implementation, addressing both domestic processes and ongoing discussions with US partners.
