A Powerball ticket sold in Illinois, U.S., matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's drawing, winning an estimated $1.04 billion jackpot, according to the lottery organization.
It's the largest Powerball jackpot so far this year, and the eight-largest Powerball jackpot in the game's history.
The lucky winner may choose either an annuitized prize of $1.040 billion or a lump-sum payment of $450.5 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive the prize in 30 graduated payments over 29 years.
