The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, Arayik Harutyunyan, held a meeting with the UK Ambassador to Armenia, Alexandra Cole.
According to a readout issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Harutyunyan emphasized that Armenia values its strengthening ties with the United Kingdom and noted that a new phase is beginning following the recent decision to elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership.
He expressed confidence that this phase of cooperation will give new impetus to the strengthening of multifaceted ties between the two countries and to the implementation of joint programs. He also highlighted the continued support of the United Kingdom’s government in strengthening democratic institutions in Armenia.
Ambassador Cole emphasized that the UK also attaches great importance to the consistent development of relations with Armenia and to elevating the level of cooperation. She expressed confidence that bilateral ties will expand and deepen in various areas in the coming years.
Harutyunyan and the UK Ambassador exchanged views on the organization of next year’s European Political Community Summit in Armenia and on the work being carried out in this regard. They also discussed cooperation in advancing the Armenian government’s reform agenda, strategic communications, the development of civil society, and other areas.
