Around 50 delegations expected in Armenia during 8th European Political Community Summit

Around 50 delegations from Europe are expected to arrive in Armenia in May 2026 for the 8th European Political Community Summit, a senior Armenian official said on Wednesday.

Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, shared technical details during a joint committee hearing on the 2026 state budget in parliament. The Prime Minister’s Office will handle organizational matters for the summit.

Mr. Harutyunyan told lawmakers that the Prime Minister’s Office budget for next year allocates 1 billion drams for organizing the event.

“Next year, the [hosting] of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community is planned according to the budget, with around 50 delegations from Europe expected to arrive in Armenia,” Harutyunyan said.

“The Prime Minister’s Office budget has allocated 1 billion drams. A tender has now been announced. There are also funds set aside in the reserve, and depending on the results of the tender, we will allocate additional funds if necessary,” he added.

The 8th European Political Community Summit is scheduled to be held on 4 May 2026 in Yerevan, Armenia. The EPC is an intergovernmental forum for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe.
