FC Noah, the reigning Armenian Premier League champion, announced on Monday that it had acquired a 23.9-hectare plot of land in Vagharshapat for 688 million drams to develop a major infrastructure project featuring a stadium and related facilities.
In addition, the club donated 312 million drams to the Vagharshapat municipality pursuant to the contract.
FC Noah plans to build a modern UEFA Category 4 stadium in the Armenian city of Vagharshapat, commonly known as Echmiadzin.
The 7-billion-dram investment project, submitted for government approval by Imagine Yerevan on behalf of FC Noah, was endorsed by the Cabinet earlier in September.
The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 involves the reconstruction and modernization of the Vagharshapat Football Academy, expected to be completed by 2030. Phase 2 will include the construction of a 15,000-seat stadium, along with additional leisure and infrastructure facilities. The sports complex in Vagharshapat will feature a hotel, a school, a gym, a dormitory, a football academy, training grounds, and more.
After purchasing the land for 688 million drams, the club signed a donation contract with the city, which will be used for municipal infrastructure development. Under this contract, FC Noah donated approximately 312 million drams, bringing its total payment to Vagharshapat to around 1 billion drams.
“This is the next step toward our dream. We’ll continue to share every step of our journey with the football community. We are grateful to the Vagharshapat community for their close cooperation. Forward to new goals,” said Vardges Vardanyan, President of FC Noah.
