On October 8, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Arayik Harutyunyan, took part in a high-level roundtable discussion on "Fighting Disinformation” held within the framework of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit in Spain.

According to a readout from the Prime Minister’s Office, the panel brought together senior officials from Armenia, Canada, Lithuania, Ukraine and Spain, as well as representatives of civil society, the media, and international organizations. They emphasized the importance of transparency, participation and accountability in strengthening the resilience of the information environment and public trust.

Harutyunyan presented the Armenian government’s approach to ensuring information reliability and combating disinformation, stressing that effective cooperation between the government, civil society and the private sector is essential to addressing the issue.

“Armenia continues to strengthen institutional mechanisms for open governance, implement digitalization and public engagement reforms, and ensure greater transparency and public oversight of political processes,” he noted.
