Yerevan city officials have organized what they describe as a “concert extravaganza” for the city’s annual celebration marking its founding anniversary.

The Erebuni-Yerevan 2807 festivities will feature major events across the city starting October 11, with the main celebration taking place the following day.

As previously reported, Armenian pop star Tata Simonyan will perform at the central plaza on Sunday.

Organizers revealed on Tuesday that Russian pop singer Lyubov Uspenskaya will also join the concert.

The program will kick off with an electronic music concert on Saturday in Diana Abgar Park downtown. Armenian DJs will warm up the audience until the evening’s main event at 21:00 — the highly anticipated performance by Italian DJ Benny Benassi, Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan told reporters.

“The festivities will continue on October 12 across the city. A jazz concert will take place at the Cascade, a rock concert at Diana Abgar Park, as well as a classical music concert conducted by Sergey Smbatyan near the Opera Theater,” he said.

Another pop concert will be held at Charles Aznavour Square. A sports program will take place at Sakharov Square, and a special children’s area will be prepared near Swan Lake.
A beer festival will also be held at Diana Abgar Park.

The celebrations will conclude with Tata Simonyan’s concert at Republic Square on October 12 at 21:00. Uspenskaya will also perform there.
