Trade turnover between Armenia and Iran continues to grow and is expected to exceed $900 million this year, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani said at a press conference.

“There is significant potential between the two countries. I am confident that by developing the necessary infrastructure, we can increase trade turnover from $900 million to $3 billion,” the ambassador said.

He added that, within the framework of the North-South road corridor, construction of the Agarak-Kajaran road has successfully begun, with substantial progress already recorded. “I can confirm that we will complete this project ahead of schedule,” Sobhani noted.

The ambassador emphasized that today, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia are not only partners and neighbors but also true friends. He highlighted that this friendship has been recognized through the Friendship and Honor Orders awarded by the President of Armenia and the Minister of Defense.

“The train of progress in our relations is always moving, and no force can stop it or divert it from its path. Long live Armenia, long live Iran,” Sobhani concluded.
