Pashinyan calls transformation in Armenia-Russia relations useful and constructive

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan described the ongoing transformation in Armenia-Russia relations as "very useful and constructive," stressing that the positive aspects in the relationship are more than the negative.

Speaking at a briefing with journalists, Pashinyan noted that some counterparts consider Russia is waging a hybrid war against Armenia, citing narratives used by certain Russian TV channels or individual speakers. However, Pashinyan said he does not share that view.

“In all our discussions, including with international partners, I say that I appreciate the dialogue we have with the Russian President very much. It is very important. We will continue to be guided by the logic of that appreciation. And I think that the transformation taking place is really very useful and constructive, because we are discussing in an open, honest, partnership atmosphere,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that Armenia and Russia have managed to find solutions to many issues that had appeared problematic. Pashinyan also underlined the personal mutual trust he maintains with Russian counterparts.

Pashinyan noted that there are discussions both in society and in political circles, many of the partners are expressing themselves clearly, for which they have justifications. “But I consider it a process, part of the transformation. And in my opinion, the positive in that transformation is many times more significant than the negative. I and we will focus on the positive and try to develop it,” he said.
