Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan lost the 97kg category quarter-final bout against Azerbaijan’s Murad Ahmadiyev in the World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.
Aleksanyan still has a chance to fight for bronze if the Azerbaijani athlete advances to the finals.
The Armenian Olympic gold medalist and four-time World Champion had advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating China’s Zegang Wang 5–1.
