Tehran will continue negotiations with Washington on the nuclear program if studies show that it aligns with the interests of the Iranian people and national priorities, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, said during a press conference.
He was asked whether Tehran would continue negotiations on the nuclear program with Washington, taking into account the end of military actions with Israel.
“We do not have new agreements for negotiations. We are currently assessing whether the negotiations serve our interests or not. We had been engaged in talks, but they were disrupted,” the Iranian ambassador said.
According to Sobhani, the current issue concerns which negotiation table Iran should return to, considering that these negotiations have already been disrupted twice by the United States and Israel.
“We need to return to a negotiation table that no one can disrupt. Negotiating does not necessarily mean reaching an agreement, but for us, the path to negotiations is not closed. We simply need to determine whether these talks align with the interests of our people, our country, and our national priorities. If we find that they do, then we will return to the negotiation table. That is what we are currently examining,” the ambassador emphasized.
