Putin and Erdogan condemn Israeli actions against Iran in phone call, Kremlin says

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a phone call on Monday, condemned Israel's military action against Iran and called for an immediate ceasefire, according to an official readout.
Putin and Erdogan condemned the Israeli military action against Iran which has been launched in violation of the UN Charter and other norms of international law, the Kremlin said.
"Both sides expressed serious concern about the ongoing escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict, which has already led to a large number of casualties and is fraught with serious long-term consequences for the entire region," a Kremlin statement said.
The two presidents called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the Kremlin said.
They said that all contentious issues, including those pertaining to the Iranian nuclear program, shall be resolved exclusively by political and diplomatic means.
They also discussed Ukraine.
Putin thanked Erdogan for Turkiye hosting the Russian-Ukrainian talks aimed at ending the war.
