The Governor of the Syunik Province Robert Ghukasyan said Wednesday that gunshots can be heard from the Azerbaijani side at nighttime.
Ghukasyan said no new incidents have occurred after the most recent one reported by the defense ministry, when Azeri small arms fire hit a residential home and killed a farm animal in a border village.
“It’s difficult to comment on their concrete goal, because there could be various reasons. But certainly the gunshots happen at nights. No such cases happen at daytime,” Ghukasyan told reporters.
Despite the gunshots, the locals have more faith that peace will come, he said.
Ghukasyan denied rumors that the local villagers want to move out.
