Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan received ARF Bureau member Sevan Danielyan, representative of the “Alik” organization Garo Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Diocesan Council of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran Varuj Hovhannisyan, and Chairman of the Deputy Assembly of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran Sourik Abnousian, the Armenian Embassy in Iran has said in a statement.
The parties discussed cooperation between the embassy and the community’s national authorities.
Representatives of the community expressed their willingness to strengthen and deepen friendly relations between Armenia and Iran, within the framework of the opportunities of the Iranian Armenian community.
During the meeting, the parties expressed regret over the unacceptable incident that occurred during the commemoration ceremony at St. Sarkis Church in Tehran on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, describing it as unacceptable.
Ambassador Hakobyan and the community representatives emphasized the need to make every effort to prevent any such incidents that could negatively affect relations between the Armenian Embassy and the community.
