French ambassador attends Republic Day celebration

French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies has visited the Sardarapat Memorial alongside other members of the diplomatic corps and top officials to celebrate Republic Day. 

“Today, on May 28, we celebrate the proclamation of the first Republic of Armenia (1918-1921) which narrowly survived war, genocide and empires. Long live the Republic and long live the free, sovereign and democratic Armenia,” the ambassador said on X.

🇦🇲 Այսօր՝ մայիսի 28-ին, նշում ենք պատերազմից, ցեղասպանությունից և կայսրություններից մազապուրծ եղած Հայաստանի առաջին Հանրապետության (1918-1921) հռչակումը։

In a separate post, he said “Today, alongside the Armenian authorities, we commemorated the creation of the first Republic of Armenia which was possible through the victory in Sardarapat,” he said.
