Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the State Award of the Republic of Armenia for Global Contribution to High Technologies to Yoshiaki Damon Hagiwara, founder of the AIPLAB consortium and president of the LOCOMTEC AIPS Artificial Intelligence Partner System Laboratory. He is the winner of this year’s award for his outstanding contribution to the field of high technologies, the PM's office has said in a statement.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Pashinyan stated:
“First of all, I would like to thank you for your contribution to the global technology sector and congratulate you on receiving the State Prize of the Republic of Armenia in the field of High Technologies.”
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the award, noting that through it, Armenia, as a state, pays tribute to individuals who have had a significant impact on the formation of modern life.
He highlighted the event as a format of Armenia’s participation in global technological processes, which the country considers highly important.
“Of course, the visit of such high-profile figures to Armenia, their interaction with our students, business community, and technology sector is significant and serves as an additional incentive for the development of the tech industry in our country. This award ceremony also allows us to assess and reaffirm the accuracy of our strategic vision in the fields of technology and education. This is also an important aspect I would like to emphasize,” Pashinyan noted.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that in conversations with previous laureates, they often refer to their school years, underlining the important role of early education in shaping their future.
“This once again highlights the importance of a strong educational infrastructure in the country, which is an absolute priority for our Government,” he said.
“We are implementing large-scale programs in preschool, general, higher, and postgraduate education, as well as in science and technology.”
The Prime Minister also thanked Dr. Hagiwara for sharing his experience with students and for his willingness to continue communication in the future.
In his speech, Dr. Yoshiaki Damon Hagiwara expressed gratitude for the recognition of his efforts and for being honored with the State Prize of Armenia. He emphasized the importance of advancing the high-tech sector and the consistent implementation of educational programs.
