Vahagn Aleksanyan meets participants of Diaspora Youth Ambassador programme

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Vahagn Aleksanyan met on September 4 with 28 participants of the Diaspora Youth Ambassador programme who had arrived from 17 countries, the Armenian National Assembly said.

“I am glad that you have come to Armenia through this very important programme to learn about and contribute to the Republic of Armenia. I attach great importance to this programme,” the National Assembly Deputy Speaker said, welcoming the participants of the Diaspora Youth Ambassador programme.

The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format. The young people’s questions concerned Armenia’s foreign policy, Armenia-EU relations, visa liberalisation, Armenia’s possible accession to the EU, the country’s security, diversification of investments, road safety, the possibility of having MPs from the Diaspora in the Armenian parliament, their participation in elections in Armenia and other issues.

The National Assembly Deputy Speaker answered the questions and provided clarifications.

Vahagn Aleksanyan urged the young people to return and use their knowledge to contribute to the development of their homeland.

During the two-week programme, participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with Armenia’s political, social and economic life and take part in various training courses.
