The Office of the Security Council of Armenia has been collecting all media reports about alleged corruption cases into one report and submitting it to the Prime Minister, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan has said.
“All media reports about corruption are collected,” he said at a press briefing.
“All media reports, which probably you yourselves can see, are collected and reported to the Prime Minister,” he added. He said high-profile cases are under particular spotlight.
Asked why the Security Council is dealing with media reports on corruption, Grigoryan said corruption is a national security threat.
“We consider corruption to be a threat to our national security. Since combating corruption is a priority for the government, the security council is working within that framework too,” he said.
On May 7, PM Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament that Secretary Grigoryan had submitted a report to him about corruption-related media reports.
