Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the “National Center for Mental Health Care” of the Ministry of Health, which is being modernized within the framework of the Armenian Government’s 2021–2026 program.

PM Pashinyan, accompanied by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, toured the center and familiarized himself with the ongoing work, the PM's Office has said.

The modernization project includes the renovation of six buildings, including psychiatric facilities, an administrative building, a kitchen building, and others.

Currently, three buildings have been completed and re-equipped - the first psychiatric building, the kitchen building, and the control checkpoint, as well as a solar photovoltaic station. Improvements have also been made to the areas surrounding the completed buildings.

The first psychiatric building underwent major renovations, including enhanced seismic reinforcement, and has been fully equipped with necessary medical equipment and furniture.

A total investment of 4 billion 688.9 million drams is planned for the renovation of the “National Center for Mental Health Care” buildings, of which 37.12% has been implemented so far.

The technical equipment was provided by the Aznavour Foundation, which donated 131 million drams for the re-equipment and furnishing of the first psychiatric building and the kitchen.
