Iran opposes the use of force to resolve regional issues - Ambassador

The Islamic Republic of Iran firmly supports the territorial integrity of Armenia, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani stated at a press conference on February 6.

According to the ambassador, Iran views the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region as its primary commitment. He reaffirmed Tehran’s stance against changing international borders in the South Caucasus, emphasizing the inviolability of borders.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is categorically opposed to changing international borders, geopolitical shifts, and the use of force to resolve regional issues," Sobhani said.

He also stressed that Iran's support for Armenia’s territorial integrity remains steadfast. “False narratives, threats, and attempts to create suspicion through videos cannot weaken the strong relations between our countries or undermine mutual trust,” the ambassador stated.
