YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis was the guest of honor at an official reception in the Armenian Embassy in Kyiv on the occasion of the Armenian Independence Day.
In his speech, Perebyinis said Ukraine expects to strengthen its ties with Armenia in various areas.
Other guests at the reception included Ukrainian foreign ministry staffers, politicians, members of parliament, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the media, Armenian community representatives, military officials, Armenian Apostolic Church Diocese of Ukraine Prelate Bishop Markos Hovhannisyan and others.
Armenian Ambassador Vladimir Karapetyan delivered remarks.
“Our commitment to democratic values, government accountability, respect to human rights and the rule of law, isn’t only a matter of government, it is the foundation that the sovereignty of our nations relies upon. In both Armenia and in Ukraine democracy is a daily effort, a work that our peoples strive for even in conditions of huge challenges. Democracy and European ambitions are our common aspirations and goals, and we are sure that we can achieve them together because these are not only the priorities of our governments but also the aspirations clearly expressed by our peoples,” Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Vladimir Karapetyan said in his remarks.
Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis said, “The relationship of the Ukrainian and Armenian peoples has big history. Its roots reach ancient times and have been based on friendship and mutual respect. We have strengthened our cultural, political and economic ties over the centuries. Ukraine and Armenia have significant potential to develop bilateral relations. We expect to strengthen our cooperation in various sectors of the bilateral agenda, as well as in the international arena.”
