Hungary summer camp program for Nagorno-Karabakh children to be continuous

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan has met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó in Yerevan.

The meeting focused on several issues of mutual interest, such as employment, sectoral strategies, services for vulnerable groups and importance of ensuring social justice, Mkrtchyan said in a statement on social media.

“We also discussed the support programs for the forcibly displaced persons of Nagorno-Karabakh, including the past and current programs, highlighting the importance of the Hungarian government’s support and readiness to ensure its continuity. We also discussed one of the initiatives that was implemented by our two countries in August, when 120 forcibly displaced children of Nagorno-Karabakh traveled to Hungary to participate in a summer camp,” the Armenian minister said.

He highlighted such initiatives not only in terms of the experience and leisure for the children, but also their mental and emotional recovery. The program is planned to be continuous and will involve around 1000 forcibly displaced children of Nagorno-Karabakh.
