Hungary summer camp receives forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh

YEREVAN, AUGUST 21, ARMENPRESS. 120 forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh are participating in a summer camp in Hungary, the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has said.

Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan personally accompanied the children to Zvartnots airport on August 19. The ministry is in charge of coordinating the project.

Children aged 8-14, accompanied by 30 ministry staffers and Armavir provincial employees, departed to the Erzsébet Camp in Zánka at Lake Balaton.

The summer camp pilot program for forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh is carried out through joint efforts of the Armenian and Hungarian governments, and the ambassadors of both countries are supporting the work, the ministry said in a press release.

The program is expected to be continuous and the number of participants will reach 1000.
