Armenia and India have much to offer each other: Indian Expert

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. President of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) and a participant in the "Yerevan Dialogue" event Samir Saran in an interview with Armenpress emphasized the strong potential for cooperation between Armenia and India. He highlighted that both countries have much to offer each other and that their partnership is mutually beneficial, with both recognizing each other's significance in global affairs.

Commenting on the organization and importance of the "Yerevan Dialogue" conference, Saran said: "We have reconnected with our friends in Armenia and have spent recent months working to create an agenda for an event of global importance. This event has brought together speakers from various countries, with representatives from more than 61 nations contributing to effective communication."

According to Saran, a very comprehensive schedule has been prepared for the event, so that the participants not only participate in debates and discussions, but also familiarize themselves with Yerevan and modern Armenian developments.

"The event offers a unique combination of exploring the country, providing participants with a platform to discuss important issues, and most importantly, fostering friendships that originate in Yerevan,’’ Saran stated.

He also expressed satisfaction with the collaboration between his team, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and various members of civil society.

Discussing the main message of the "Yerevan Dialogue," Saran emphasized that small countries with strong institutions and an “appetite for innovation” should become partners and active participants in the global arena where future solutions are debated.

"The importance of a country is not determined by its size, but by its competencies and capabilities. Armenia is a highly educated and capable nation with much to offer the world. That is the main message: come to Armenia, engage with us—people will listen to you, and you will listen to us. Together, we can build a better future," Saran stressed.

Referring to the deepening relations and cooperation between Armenia and India in recent years, Saran emphasized that a strong and prosperous Armenia is crucial for the region, and this region, in turn, is significant for the world.

According to Saran, Armenian-Indian relations strengthen both countries. This relationship helps Armenia play the role it aspires to, and it also benefits India through the wealth of digital innovation and ideas coming out of Armenia.

"I think Armenia has a lot to offer India, and India has a lot to offer Armenia. It’s a mutually beneficial partnership where both countries recognize each other's importance in world affairs," Samir Saran, president of India’s leading Observer Research Foundation think tank, emphasized during the conversation.

Evaluating the Armenian government’s efforts to establish peace in the region, Saran said: "Armenia has a very forward-looking prime minister who is focused on peace during this challenging period. This morning, he presented his peace plan. We should applaud and support his efforts. We need more leaders who seek peace, not war. Many leaders around the world pursue conflict, but the Prime Minister of Armenia is committed to peace, which is a rare and commendable quality in today’s world."
