YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has received Qu Dongyu, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
PM Pashinyan lauded the effective cooperation that has been developed between the Armenian government and FAO, namely in ensuring food security.
The Armenian Prime Minister attached importance to the continuous implementation of joint programs in agriculture and environmental protection sectors. He expressed conviction that Director-General Dongyu’s visit will convey momentum to the development of partnership.
FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu said he had effective discussions with Armenian government officials about the course of the current programs and possibilities of new initiatives. The purpose of implementing new programs is to contribute to ensuring food security and resolve existing problems in the sector, he said.
