YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan has said that Azerbaijan’s accusations of Armenia torpedoing the peace talks and laying landmines on Azeri territory are a total lie.
In an interview with TASS, Marukyan said that Armenia has given Azerbaijan the maps of the minefields as a confidence measure, but Azerbaijan hasn’t responded appropriately.
“In response, Azerbaijan continues kidnapping new prisoners of war in Lachin Corridor and from sovereign territory of Armenia, continuously opens fire, using snipers, carries out provocations and sabotage raids in Nagorno-Karabakh (the ceasefire violation and the wounding of the NK Defense Army soldier, which has been recorded by the Russian peacekeeping contingent, is in this context.) Thus, Azerbaijan continues to create problems regarding building of trust, also obstructing dialogue between Stepanakert and Baku,” Marukyan said, adding that the Armenian Prime Minister has taken all possible and impossible steps to increase trust for the peace process, in order for a comprehensive and sustainable peace to be signed with Azerbaijan, but which is continuously being torpedoed by Azerbaijan.
