3 dead, 2 injured in single-car crash on Ijevan-Yerevan highway

YEREVAN, JANUARY 31, ARMENPRESS. Three people were killed and two others injured in a single-vehicle accident on the Sevan-Gagarin road shortly after midnight.

The victims were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz C-Class when the driver apparently lost control and crashed into the field. The vehicle caught fire. The incident happened on the 95th kilometer of the Ijevan-Yerevan highway. The rescue service said the fire was contained at 00:37 and extinguished at 00:52.

The driver, 21 years old, and two passengers, both aged 26, were killed in the crash. Their bodies were found by first-responders 10 meters away from the wreckage of the car.

The two other passengers, both 26 years old, are hospitalized.
