YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, agreed to protect the Kherson region from the left bank of the Dnieper River, as suggested by Sergey Surovikin, the commander of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, ARMENPRESS was informed from TASS.

"Comprehensively assessing the situation, it is recommended to carry out the defense from the left bank of the Dnieper River. I understand that it is not an easy decision, but at the same time, we protect the most important thing: the lives of our servicemen and the safety of our troops. In addition, resources and forces will be freed that can take part in active operations in other directions," Surovikin reported, after which Shoigu gave his consent.

"Go on with the withdrawal of troops and take all measures to ensure the safe transportation of personnel, weapons and equipment across the Dnieper River," instructed the Russian Defense Minister.
