YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. On October 10, 2022, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia unilaterally terminated the arms supply contract with the Jadara Equipment and Defense Systems company and demanded payment of a fine, ARMENPRESS reports the relevant document, signed by Deputy Minister of Defense Karen Brutyan, is published on the website of the Ministry of Finance.
The document states that in the sidelines of the purchase contract signed between the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and the "Jadara Equipment and Defense System" company on 08.06.2021, the Jordanian company was supposed to supply the goods stipulated in the aforementioned contract during 2021, but did not supply them.
"Based on the requirements of paragraph b) of clause 2.1.6 of clause 2.1.6.1 of the Agreement, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia unilaterally completely terminated the above-mentioned contract on October 10, 2022.
I inform you that the company "Jadara Equipment and Defense System" is obliged to transfer 23 232 233 AMD as a penalty to the treasury account 900005028106 opened by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia within 5 (five) banking days after receiving this notice, according to Clause 6.2 of the Agreement”, reads the document.
