9 police officers arrested for covering up crime

9 police officers at the Vagharshapat Police Department have been arrested on suspicion of covering up a crime, authorities announced Wednesday. 

The arrests were conducted in a special operation by the Anti-Corruption Committee.

The suspects have been charged with covering up a crime and falsifications, the Anti-Corruption Committee said in a statement without elaborating. 

Other details weren’t immediately available.

Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Narek Sargsyan told Armenpress that the ministry had filed a report to the Anti-Corruption Committee based on information obtained in an investigation by its internal affairs and anti-corruption department.
