YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. With a concert dedicated to the 153rd anniversary of birth of Komitas, the Vahagn Stamboltsyan International Organ Festival will be launched on September 26 at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall in Yerevan.

The festival will be held until November 6. During the days of the festival, 12 concerts will be organized, which will take place in Yerevan, Kapan and Charentsavan.

The festival will be attended by famous organists Fabio Machera (Italy), Yevgeny Avramenko (Russia), Jean-Pierre Stivers (Netherlands), Lada Labzina (Russia) and Emmanuel Arakelyan (France). Organists will also conduct master classes.

The Armenian Organ School will be represented by Anna Bakunts, Karine Hovhannisyan, Harutyun Tagvoryan, Tereza Oskanyan, Hovhannes Manukyan, Armen Aghajanyan, Davit Hovhannisyan, Lusin Sarajyan, Lusine Harutyunyan, Vahagn Margaryan and Marina Nahapetyan.

"The pipe organ has its special place and audience in Armenian cultural life. The Dutch "Flentrop" organ of the Komitas House of Chamber Music was installed in 1979 and is unique of its kind in the territory of the former USSR. Taking into account the uniqueness of the instrument and the interest of our audience in organ music, the idea of organizing such a festival on a large scale arose. The idea has several years of history, the epidemic and the war forced the implementation to be postponed a bit, but we are happy that in this concert season we will present to the audience the international organ festival named after Vahagn Stamboltsyan. Stamboltsyan performed at the first organ music concert held at the House of Chamber Music," says Armen Sukiasyan, the initiator of the festival, deputy director of the National Chamber Music Center.

The festival program also includes a concert dedicated to Mikael Tariverdiev.

The festival will be held at the initiative of the National Chamber Music Center with the support of the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
