YEREVAN, 26 MAY, ARMENPRESS. On May 26, President Serzh Sargsyan received Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Electricity Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Alexander Novak, who is in Yerevan to participate in the 47^th session of the Council. As the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the President greeted the guest in Armenia and attached importance to the session of the Electricity Council of the CIS in Yerevan which, according to Serzh Sargsyan, serves as a good opportunity to discuss issues on the development of bilateral relations in the energy sector, taking into consideration the fact that the energy sector is one of the major components of the Armenian-Russian strategic partnership.

Minister Alexander Novak expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and for organizing the session of the Electricity Council of the CIS at a high level in Armenia.

During the meeting, the President of the Republic of Armenia and the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation discussed the current process of the Armenian-Russian cooperation in the energy, gas and nuclear energy sectors and issues on further development of that cooperation.
