Stepanakert welcomes Palestine's recognition by European Parliament

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS: Karabakh has adopted a multilevel recognition strategy and soon the country’s foreign diplomacy will pass from a regional level to a states’ and international organizations’ platform with the assistance of Armenia and Diaspora.
“The recognition of Artsakh first began from the local community level. Many said that it was not right and criticized us. Now the recognition of Artsakh is being carried out on the regional level. The Nagorno Karabakh was recognized by California, which is one of the ten states of the world, having developed economy. We are known in the Basque Country and New Wales. Very soon we will reach the states’ and international organizations’ platform. It is our objective and we will carry out quite a serious work in that direction with assistance of Armenia and the Diaspora”, - Davit Babayan, the Spokesperson of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic President, told Armenpress.
Concerning the recent recognition of the State of Palestine by the European Parliament on December 17, Babayan stated that Stepanakert welcomes any recognition, based on the self-determination rights of the nations, especially if it goes in accordance with the law. Though, in this case, according to the Spokesperson of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic President Davit Babayan, the key issues of Palestine and Artsakh are quite different from each other.
