Spain welcomes agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan on draft peace treaty

Spain has welcomed the completion of the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan around the draft peace agreement.

“Spain welcomes the news of the agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and hopes that this announcement will lead to the conclusion of a final agreement between the two countries. Spain reaffirms its commitment to peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” the Spanish foreign ministry said in a press release.

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan announced on March 13 that the negotiations around the peace treaty have been concluded. The date and location of signing the agreement is yet to be determined.
