Several Armenian families from Iraq moved to Armenia

YEREVAN, AUGUST 23, ARMENPRESS. In the recent days, several Armenian families from Iraq have moved to Armenia. They were received by the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Diaspora Firdus Zakaryan. "I met with them two days ago, we discussed some issues related to the solution of their problems," said Zakaryan in a conversation with “Armenpress”.

He informed that at this point the families are living in their relatives’ homes. “For example, one of these families is living in Ararat region, they came to us. We discussed the ways we can help them and learned about their problems. We have to develop plans for solving them," Zakaryan noted.

Asked whether there are families that have expressed desire to come to Armenia in the near future, Zakaryan said that he couldn’t answer at the moment, but added that in the recent months the Armenians of Iraq have been more active. "Several families have come. Previously, for example, they weren’t coming, but now, even though not many, some people are coming from Iraq," he said.
