Information registry of inmates introduced in correctional facilities of Armenia

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The works of introducing an electronic management information system in correctional facilities is completed, first deputy Justice Minister Suren Krmoyan said.

“The purpose of this initiative is to elaborate complete information about incarcerated individuals, provide comprehensive analysis of works carried out by departments, as well as introduce functional supervision measures”, he said.

The deputy minister says the “Information Registry of inmates and convicts” has been drafted and elaborated jointly by the correctional department and the VXsoft company. The Registry is unprecedented in terms of technical possibilities and scale.

“The system fully includes information on parole, change of sentence, visits, education, work, and other information of importance. And the photographing, taking fingerprints, and entire process of surveillance will be carried out digitally, and will be archived in individual folders”, he said.
