Cross-stones (khachkar) discovered on Van lakebed

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. A company engaged in cleaning the lakebed of Van has discovered cross-stones (Khachkar), according to the Turkish Milliyet.

Particularly, two cross-stones were discovered – one with a cross and another with a cross and hole, as well as two stone cannon projectiles.

An employee of the cleaning company (FIVA) said they have already notified the museum on their findings.

“I think there are many similar stones on the lakebed”, he said.
