As “Armenpress” was informed from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government Staff of the Republic of Armenia, before starting the issues on the agenda, PM Abrahamyan, addressing the council members, mentioned that this year the UN sums up the implementation of Millennium Development Goals. According to the Prime Minister, Armenia, nationalizing the Millennium Development Goals too, has actively engaged in their implementation and has recording significant progress. “During this period, in 2012, the summit of the “Rio+20” sustainable development took place, which adopted the final document “The future we want”, laying the groundwork for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preparation of a new comprehensive document. Being a result of a long process of negotiations the document “post 2015 developmentagenda” includes Sustainable Development Goals and methods of their implementation: Overall, 17 goals and 169 targets”, Hovik Abrahamyan underlined.

Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the cooperation between the authorities, civil society and NGOs and mentioned that the existing problems can be solved only by cooperation. Abrahamyan underlined the tolerant and peaceful cooperation between the government and the public for the sustainable development of our country. “We must sit around a table and discuss the existing problems together and try to give a joint solution to it. That is the only Constitutional way to find a solution”, the Prime Minister said.
