Laz writer living in Turkey is ready for telling truth about Armenian Genocide at his life’s stake

YEREVAN, JULY 3, ARMENPRESS. During the last years there are more and more brave intellectuals in Turkey, who having before their eye the probability of being subjected to harassment and threats, as well as the brutal experience of their colleagues, they consider telling the truth, however, to be beyond any type of templates. Among such intellectuals is laz writer-poet Serkan Engin, living in Turkey. In an interview with "Armenpress”, he boldly told the truth about the Armenian Genocide, valuing the truth above even his own life.

- Living in Turkey, you openly speak about the Armenian Genocide, while those who do not express the Turkish government's position on the Armenian issue are constantly exposed to threats. Are not you afraid to be subjected to persecution or harassments, too?

- I'm not afraid of death. Initially I had in mind that risk. I am ready for death. I am the one who is ready to defend his truth to the end. I know that for my writings on the Armenian Genocide, like Hrant Dink, I could be killed in the middle of the street or thrown to jail. I write having these threats before my eyes. Besides, in my works I speak not only of the Armenian Genocide, but also the genocides of Assyrians, Keldains, Nestorians, Pontic Greeks. (THE FULL VERSION OF THE INTERVIEW IS AVAILABLE IN ARMENIAN)
