Pashinyan and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan Border Demarcation Process

YEREVAN, JUNE 18, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma.

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the continuous development of the Armenia-U.S. strategic dialogue and the enhancement of multi-sectoral cooperation. The Prime Minister noted that Richard Verma's visit would help advance bilateral agenda issues, strengthen democracy and economic empowerment programs, and expand relations at the local self-government level, according to a statement from the Armenian government.

Richard Verma emphasized the readiness of the U.S. to strengthen cooperation with Armenia in various directions, including between local bodies and communities, as well as in the economy, education and other fields.

At the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to the implementation of the agreements reached at the Armenia-EU-USA high-level meeting held in Brussels on April 5 of this year.

During the meeting, thoughts were exchanged on the discussions regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, the border demarcation process, the "Crossroads of Peace" project, and the implementation of the government-approved housing program for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.Regarding the latter, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of international partners' support.
